SafeBVM’s CAPCE-Accredited Workshop Featured in EMS World

We’re excited to share that the SafeBVM manual ventilation workshop, a CAPCE-accredited training program, was recently featured in EMS World. This recognition highlights the growing importance of standardizing manual ventilation — one of the most common but least consistent interventions in resuscitation.

Manual ventilation often suffers from variability. Over-ventilation, hyperventilation, and inconsistent pressures compromise outcomes in cardiac arrest, traumatic brain injury, and opioid-related respiratory failure. EMS providers need training that goes beyond theory and helps them practice safe, measurable techniques.

CAPCE-Accredited Training for EMS Providers

The SafeBVM manual ventilation workshop directly addresses this need. The virtual session, “Mastering Flow Control in Manual Ventilation: Reducing Variability & Improving Outcomes,” is CAPCE-accredited and gives every participant one hour of free CAPCE credit. National experts Dr. Lauren Maloney and Tom Piraino, RRT, lead the course, bringing years of clinical and teaching experience to EMS medical directors, educators, chiefs, trainers, and frontline providers.

Real-Time Feedback and Real-World Cases

SafeBVM’s SotairIQ is one of the EMS World Innovation Award–finalist for 2025. SotairIQ provides deeper understanding between paramters of manual ventilation and is used in real world case training and education during the workshop.

Why This Matters

As EMS agencies confront challenges such as opioid overdoses, cardiac arrest survival, and limited resources, improving manual ventilation skills is critical. The SafeBVM manual ventilation workshop equips providers with tools to reduce preventable harm and improve outcomes — at no cost to them.
